On June 18th, WV Rivers Coalition hosted a brain trust meeting at Shepardstown University and was attended by SCWA President Chuck Marsh and webmaster Jeff Iliff. Topics discussed included source water protection for drinking water, pipeline and above-ground toxic storage tank safety concerns, political advocacy, and the impending political struggle over the designation of ‘Birthplace of Rivers’ as a national monument. The event was well hosted and facilitated by WV Rivers Coalitions’ Angie Rosser and David Lillard. Discussions were continued at nearby Blue Moon Cafe where WV Rivers treated participants to numerous rounds of appetizers. Thanks to WV Rivers Coalition for their commitment to keeping our water safe to drink and our waterways safe to play in.
