The rains are winding down, the summer heat is upon us, and WV Day is
quickly approaching. That all means one thing: the District Dash is almost
here!
Each year, the Eastern Panhandle Conservation District hosts a 5K and 1 mile
fun walk to raise funds for our conservation education efforts in the
community. This year it is being held at the Cacapon State Park Nature Center on June 18th at 10:00 am. Typically, our programs are offered at no cost to the host (mainly our local schools) and we are very proud to do this. However, we obviously must continue to have the funds to be able to provide these
services. We are proud that 100% of the profits from the District Dash are
able to go towards those education funds. The funds provide education
services and events for the local school systems, watershed organizations,
park and recreation departments, and other conservation minded activities
and groups.
If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in the race,
please spread the word and pre-register through this Friday to be guaranteed
a race day t shirt! On-site registration will also be available. Sponsorship
spots are also available and the coveted Event T Shirt sponsor level is
still available through this Friday!! This level provides your logo or name
on the back of the race day t shirt and provides one free entry to the 5K or
two free entries into the fun walk. All sponsorship options will have the
opportunity to have a picnic table to display their business or
organization. We would like to thank Progressive Printing, Weis Markets,
Kitchen’s Farm Market, and the Chesapeake Bay Program for their committed
and continued support of this event!!
